Max Summer School in GEIDAI is a part of extension lectures 2019 of Tokyo University of the Arts. Extension Lecture Number(公開講座番号):71(Maxサマースクール・イン・藝大)

However, Open Call for Presentation at Evening Session and Open Call for Concert Pieces is separated from the extension lecture, openly called from public.

Either of the calls closes on June 30th, 2019(An application for the extension lecture begins from May 15th.)

Also, you can come to see evening sessions and the concert without reservation.

This workshop is oriented to:

who can participate all 5days lectures. (you cannot participate only or a few days of this 5 days program) Regardless of sex or age.

How to Apply

We accept applications from online form or by mail.

Please fill out an application form which is in the end of our outline. Put the application form and a return envelope (with your address, name and a stamp of 82 JPY) inside of another envelope, and send to the address below

NOTES ON APPLICATION of extension lectures

1, It is not allowed for another person to take lectures in place of the applied participate.

2, Your applications will be denied in these cases : 1) Make overlapped applications for one title. 2) Apply for another title, but lecture days are overlapped and you write BOTH as your FIRST choice. (It is possible to apply each for your FIRST and SECOND choice. For details, see next clause 3) 3) Apply outside of the specified period for application. 4) Let us not to be able to contact you because of making errors/omissions in your phone number, mail address or etc.

3, If you want to apply for some titles: 1) If each title you want to participate is NOT overlapped – You need 1 filled application form per 1 title, a return envelope (with your address, name and a stamp of 82 JPY) and send them to us.(You can use a copied form.) 2) If each title you want to participate is overlapped – You need to decide your FIRST and SECOND choice and write down it, then you can apply.

! If applications are MORE than the fixed amount number, we will draw lots after the application periods. (The lottery doesn’t matter if you apply earlier or later.) If you lose it and apply for SECOND choice, and if the title has a vacancy, you can take the SECOND title. If it is full, you cannot participate. We will let you know whether you can participate or not, and the result of the lottery through advance notice.

! If applications are LESS than the smallest number, we will not hold the lecture. We will let you know after the application periods.

Advance notice for the lecture

We will let you know, whether you can participate or not, through advance notice after the application periods. The notice is supposed to arrive about a month ahead. If you cannot get it until 2 weeks ahead of the lecture, please contact us.(contact addresses in below.) If we draw lots and if you lose it, we will also et you know about it too. !If you apply from online, we will send it through email.

How to pay the fee

The fee for lectures (and some supplies) is different from each title. Please check page7 to 27 of the outline.

If your application is accepted, we will let you know about the fee and how you need to pay with the advanced notice. You have to pay it until the fixed date mentioned in the notice.

!The fee may change for some reasons, please pay the fee mentioned in the advanced notice.


  1. All procedures has been completed once you pay the fee.
  2. You cannot get any refund of the lecture fee.
  3. You cannot get any refund of the supply fee, though if there’s special case, we may can give you some supplies.
  4. If you cannot participate lectures and want to decline after you get the advance notice for the lecture, but before you pay the fee, please contact us necessarily.
  5. We cannot pay for the deposit charge.

Notice for a class

  1. We will give you your name card on the first day of the workshop. Please wear it in a campus. You need to return the name card after the workshop is finished.
  2. Please don’t touch objects and works in the campus and classrooms without any permission. Also, you can’t enter in any places other than the classroom/hall used in the workshop.
  3. Please manage all your valuables at your own risk.
